Dr. Monica Posey
Community Advocate of the Year
Monica Posey has been President of Cincinnati State for 9 years, focusing on building relationships to achieve the college's mission and expanding employer partnerships to address the tri-state’s skills gap. Her accomplishments include enrollment growth, approval to offer bachelor’s degrees, expanded College Credit Plus, and 10-year institutional reaccreditation.
Dr. Posey holds a Doctor of Education from the University of Cincinnati, a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University. She completed PhD coursework in Quantitative Analysis and taught Statistics at UC for many years. She joined Cincinnati State after a business career with AT&T Company and has held several positions before becoming president, including assistant dean, director of Institutional Research, academic vice president, and provost.
She is a graduate of the Cincinnati U.S.A. Regional Chamber 2010 Leadership Cincinnati class and serves on the boards of GRAD Cincinnati, Cincinnati Works, and the United Way of Greater Cincinnati. Community recognition includes the Business Courier Women Who Mean Business, the Greater Cincinnati YWCA Career Women of Achievement, Cincy Magazine 100 Most Influential, and the West Chester/Liberty Alliance Women of Excellence awards.
Dr. Posey and husband, Rev. Dr. Michael J. Posey, live in Green Township. Their community work encompasses tutoring, mentoring, and endowed scholarships at Cincinnati State and Mount St. Joseph University. They have one daughter, Marchelle, and 3 grandchildren.
